How do material purchasers buy their material?

Each of the segment types are different in their purchasing habits: Concrete producers and asphalt companies rely on long-term negotiated contracts typically with un-defined annual increases and 30 day payment terms. Concrete in particular has a lot of friction of switching depending on building code and allowance of material replacement. These companies can stockpile aggregates but cementitious requires more precision ordering and delivery execution not to disrupt production for their customers. Job sites can be more flexible but many have large groups of employees waiting on loads of material so they can move on to their next task, making transparency and tracking a bigger concern for them.
